Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the sports world had expressed sympathy for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
