Aryna Sabalenka in action
The Belarusian player ended the tour with an impressive 23-3 Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Dominance

Across the season, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka finished the season with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a record ÂŁ11m in prize money.

She earned nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
