Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The jet landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has encountered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
