The Opening Xbox Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites have started writing regarding Sony's platform unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft still intends to engage players with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Intriguing Niche Additions
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Well-Rounded Collection
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that justify the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
