This young athlete boasts considerable online following
The young golfer will have multiple prominent backers as she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, received a special exemption to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses multiple courses worldwide and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"He essentially told me to compete and have fun," she added.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in just three tournaments recently and has ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she can get advice from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He is the greatest golfer in the world," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's an even better individual. He told me to play, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face some of top competitors in women's golf at the competition, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence exposes the sport to wider groups, specifically reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer boasts substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle label.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
