Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two men have been charged related to a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
